FAQ 1

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I've never sung in a chorus before, can I join?
A: Yes!  This is a great time to try singing in a chorus for a short time.  You don't need to have any particular singing experience!  If you're really new to singing, we will help you identify someone else singing your part that is more experienced, and have you stand close to her. Hearing another singer really helps.

Q: Can I bring a friend?
A
: Yes! In fact we'd love that. In fact, bring lots of friends...the more the merrier.

Q: Do I have to be able to read music?
A: No. Every participant receives links to Learning Tracks, and Sheet Music.  - all you have to do is listen to the Learning Tracks to learn them and come ready to learn some more!

Q: Is there an age limit?
A: All women from the age of 9 years old to 65+ are welcome.

QWhat is included in the Fee?
A:  Your registration will include access to the Learning Tracks, Sheet Music, 6 weeks of rehearsals, and the opportunity to perform at least twice in the community.

FAQ 2

Q: Is there a costume?
A: Yes! This year’s show called “Journey to Bethlehem” will be a religious or non-secular theme. We are asking each Christmas Chorus member to be dressed as a shepherd, townsmen or an angel. For the other community performance, we would like everyone to wear black shoes, black pants or black skirt topped with a red top of some type. Some accessories will be loaned to all participants for the performances. The idea is to present a unified look for our performances.
It is important that some makeup be used for the performance because of the lighting. We recommend the same amount that you would use as if preparing for a special evening out. If you are inexperienced with makeup application, there are many volunteers willing to help.”

Q: What songs will we sing?
A: We're still finalizing the repertoire list. However, we will be singing a mix of Christmas Carols designed to ring in the Christmas season. Something for everyone.
